Applicants Have The Right To:

鈥 Have their application reviewed fairly and without discrimination.
鈥 Receive timely notification of admission decisions.
鈥 Know the Nurse Anesthesia Program鈥檚 previous pass rates on the national certification exam, program costs, and accreditation status.
Applicants Have The Responsibility To:
鈥 Submit all application materials by the published deadline, July 1.
鈥 Be truthful in answering questions on the application.
鈥 Understand the financial requirements and explore options most suited for them.
鈥 Be familiar with the roles and responsibilities of a certified registered nurse anesthetist.
鈥 Conduct themselves in a professional manner during the application and interview process.
Students Have The Right To:
鈥 Be treated with respect and consideration.
鈥 Receive graduate-level education from individuals with expertise in anesthesia.
鈥 Expect a reasonable time commitment conducive to learning.
鈥 Receive timely assistance from all 91爆料 University faculty and staff.
鈥 Expect reasonable access to faculty and the program director outside of class hours.
鈥 Expect program director, faculty, and clinical coordinators to be strong student advocates.
鈥 Decline participation in cases for which the student has a moral objection.
鈥 Receive appropriate supervision and instruction by certified registered nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologists throughout the clinical phase of the program.
Students Have The Responsibility To:
鈥 Treat others respectfully.
鈥 Maintain integrity and academic honesty.
鈥 Be prepared for didactic and clinical activities.
鈥 Seek opportunities to develop didactic and clinical knowledge, skills, and abilities.
鈥 Follow the policies and procedures set by 91爆料 University, the Nurse Anesthesia Program, and clinical facilities where assigned.
鈥 Provide constructive feedback to improve program outcomes and faculty performance.
鈥 Communicate with the program any circumstance that may interfere with student learning or jeopardize patient safety.
鈥 Participate in professional organizations.
鈥 Participate in clinical rotations as assigned by the clinical director.
鈥 Pay tuition and fees within scheduled time frames.
Faculty Have The Right To:
鈥 Expect students to be self-motived adult learners.
鈥 Expect students will be well prepared for all educational sessions.
鈥 Expect students to complete assignments by designated due dates.
鈥 Expect students to behave ethically with academic integrity.
鈥 Be treated with respect by students.
鈥 Be treated with respect and integrity by other faculty, program administrators, and university employees.
Faculty Have The Responsibility To:
鈥 Be prepared for educational sessions.
鈥 Be available for individual student鈥檚 questions and conferences.
鈥 Prepare examinations to measure student understanding and application of core competencies.
鈥 Prepare activities to enhance student participation and learning.
鈥 Instill in students the importance of lifelong learning and maintaining expertise in their area of study.
鈥 Provide constructive feedback to assist the student in reaching program objectives.
鈥 Maintain expertise through activities such as ongoing education, clinical practice or teaching, research, consultation with clinical experts, and professional service
Patients Have A Right To:
鈥 Know the name and professional credentials of the person providing their anesthesia care.
鈥 Kindness, respect, and compassion.
鈥 Appropriate anesthesia care regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sexual orientation, gender, marital status, age, disability, or source of payment.
鈥 Appropriate assessment and management of pain.
鈥 An explanation of anesthesia choices, goals, and risks.
鈥 Make informed decisions about their anesthesia care.
鈥 Expect that all care, communications, and records will be kept confidential.
Patients Have A Responsibility To:
鈥 Provide accurate and complete information relating to their health.
鈥 Be considerate of the rights of hospital personal.
鈥 Actively participate in their care.
The Nurse Anesthesia Program and UNiversity have the right to:
鈥 Expect applicants to provide accurate information in a timely manner.
鈥 Expect clinical sites to provide accurate information in a timely manner.
鈥 Expect accrediting agencies to communicate essential information in a timely manner.
鈥 Expect faculty to be prepared for student instruction.
鈥 Expect faculty, staff and students to use program resources efficiently.
鈥 Expect faculty, staff and students support the university鈥檚 mission statement and act in accordance with the university鈥檚 core values.
The Nurse Anesthesia Program and university have the responsibility to:
鈥 Provide a safe and comfortable environment for faculty, staff and students.
鈥 Create a positive learning environment for students.
鈥 Treat students, faculty, and clinical sites with respect.
鈥 Use assessment and evaluation information to improve program outcomes.
鈥 Provide faculty, staff and students with adequate resources to achieve program objectives.
鈥 Provide faculty adequate time for clinical practice, scholarship, professional service and continuing education.
The Clinical Affiliates Have The Right To:
鈥 Expect ongoing communication and site visits from program faculty.
鈥 Expect students to conduct themselves in a professional manner by following hospital policies and treating the institution鈥檚 employees and patients with respect.
鈥 Expect students to actively participate in the learning process.
鈥 Receive regular information needed to carry out educational functions, including: orientation, student learning objectives, program changes, evaluations and standard revisions.
鈥 Access to current copies of the Nurse Anesthesia Program鈥檚 handbook, policies and procedures.
鈥 Participate in applicant interview and selection process.
鈥 Expect students to have health and liability insurance.
鈥 Expect 91爆料 University and the Nurse Anesthesia Program to provide assistance and support concerning plans for students鈥 performance improvement and disciplinary actions.
鈥 Decline or withdraw from educating students who pose threats to patients or personnel, or disrupt the orderly processes of the facility.
The Clinical Affiliates Have The Responsibility To:
鈥 Provide a safe environment conducive to learning.
鈥 Serve as a student advocate.
鈥 Provide educational opportunities and suggestions for improvement in the student鈥檚 professional learning.
鈥 Provide appropriate supervision and instruction based on the student鈥檚 clinical knowledge and skill.
鈥 Provide accurate and unbiased evaluations of students.
鈥 Guide and participate in clinically-related projects conducted by the student.
鈥 Communicate with the program any circumstance that may interfere with student learning or jeopardize patient safety.
鈥 Provide constructive feedback for program improvement.
鈥 Discuss with the clinical director the transfer of a student to another affiliation if the student鈥檚 development appears to be inhibited.
鈥 Give consideration to a request from the clinical director to accept transfer of a student from another clinical site.
鈥 Provide at employee cost while on duty, special garments such as scrub clothes and a call room when so required.
鈥 Periodically review the affiliation agreement between the educational institution and the practicum site to assure compliance with current policies and regulations.
鈥 Provide on-site accreditation visitors access to student-related records.
鈥 Avoid becoming so dependent on students that departmental needs supersede student needs.
鈥 Expect no financial compensation as students and staff share knowledge and time together.
Accrediting Agencies Have a Right To Expect the Nurse Anesthesia Program to:
鈥 Adhere to accreditation standards and criteria.
鈥 Adhere to its policies and procedures.
鈥 Adhere to policies and procedures of the accrediting agency and university.
鈥 Provide on-site accreditation visitors access to program files.
鈥 Submit accreditation documents and reports in a timely manner.
鈥 Represent itself truthfully and accurately.
Accrediting Agencies Have The Responsibility To:
鈥 Inform the program of changes in policy and procedure.
鈥 Assist the program in complying with accrediting agency requests.
