MMU is a member of the NAIA and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Each year, MMU has several Lancer athletes named NAIA All-American Scholar Athletes, named to All-American teams and named conference Players of the Year.

91���� University is a private, Catholic, Benedictine, coeducational liberal arts university, which was founded in 1936. It offers associates, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees and prepares students for professional careers in over 30 fields. 

91���� University, which the Sisters of Saint Benedict founded in 1936, is named in memory of Martin Marty, a Benedictine missionary to the Native Americans. He came to Dakota Territory in 1876, became the Territory's first Catholic Bishop and invited the Benedictine Sisters to establish a religious community in Yankton. The college functioned as a junior college for women for 15 years. In 1951, it awarded its first Bachelor of Arts degrees and awarded its first master's degree in 1985. 91���� University's main campus, located in Yankton, South Dakota, is a beautifully maintained campus of 80 acres. MMU-Yankton, is a residential campus with four residence halls, a chapel, a student center, a performing arts auditorium, an athletic arena, a fieldhouse, the Scholastica Learning Center and Benedict's Cafe. 91���� has two other locations: Watertown and Sioux Falls.

The Watertown location provides expanded opportunities and options for prospective Watertown students. Watertown, a community of 22,000, is located in the northeast part of the state. The city, which also made a rich contribution to the history and culture of the area, has activities to match any taste.

The Sioux Falls location is home to our Doctoral program in Nurse Anesthesia and is located at 5001 West 41st St.

91���� University's academic calendar is semester based, with the fall semester starting in August or September and ending in December and the spring semester starting in January and ending in May.
